The new Add Text tool allows adding text as well as annotations and file organiser improves the file management.

Adobe has released an update for its Reader app meant for Google Android based devices. The Adobe Reader update brings a new text adding feature with the Add Text tool. Besides that, you can now fill up PDF (portable document format) based forms after applying the new update. The Adobe Reader is the official Portable Document Reader app for the Android-based smartphones and tablets.
Adobe decided not to offer any new Adobe Flash Player installations but has not ceased any development on its Reader app. The Adobe Reader app is one versatile app to read all your portable documents (PDFs) on the move and also enjoy some other features.

With the new Add Text Tool, you can add your comments and annotations to any PDF. With the PDF documents that have field validation, you can now enter text those fields and fill out the forms.

The improved File Organiser in the Reader app now allows better management of the files by letting you create folders, copy, rename, move and delete files any time. Apart from these new features, Adobe claims to have added several bug fixes and performance improvements under the hood.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean won't support Adobe Flash Player

The company will pull the existing Flash Player from Google Play Store on August 15 this year.

Adobe has announced that its Adoble Player will not be be available for the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update and if you still have it installed on the device, it may malfunction.
Adobe had publicly announced last year that the company will shift its focus from developing Flash for mobile web to desktop. Apart from that, Adobe has clarified that all Android devices that do not have Flash Player pre-installed or downloaded from Google Play Store, will not be able to enjoy Flash after August 15.
After the August 15 deadline, Adobe plans to use Google Play Store's limited configuration settings to push new Flash Player updates only, security patches and other minor fixes, for those devices that have Flash installed. That means, if you have purchased a device after August 15 and if it does not have Flash then you won't be able to find it in the Google Play Store.
To be on the safer side, if you plan to purchase any older version of Android bearing smartphone, do check if it is in the list of Adobe Flash certified devices.
Adobe Flash Player for mobiles has been mostly responsible for viewing videos through apps and mobile web browsers lately. But the company announced its plans to cease the development of Flash Player for mobile platform.
This apparently is not so pleasant news for the several websites that strive on offering mobile web friendly content using Flash technology.
